Brian
Chesnie, MD, is a Harvard-trained cardiologist with more than 20
years of experience. He studied under Dr. Bernard Lown, a Nobel
Peace Prize laureate who is one of the most renowned cardiologists
in the nation and who invented defibrillation and cardioversion,
now principal lifesaving techniques used in medicine every day.
Dr. Chesnie was one of the earliest investigators
into implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) and performed
Orange Countys first ICD implantation. He introduced and developed
cardiac electrophysiology programs at five Orange County hospitals,
including Hoag Memorial Hospital. He is currently the Chairman of
Cardiology and former Director of Electrophysiology and Pacemaker
Arrhythmia Center at Hoag Hospital. Dr. Chesnie is one of only a
handful of doctors in Orange County who is board certified in
Lipidology.
He also performed
Hoags first catheter ablation procedure as well as its first
implantation of a biventricular pacemaker. In addition, he cares
for many area physicians who trust his experience, expertise and
reputation for medical excellence.
